Long hair, whether it's synthetic or human hair, can be more work, simply because these styles require combing and regular cleaning and conditioning to keep them manageable. Though it can be scary to change hairstyles, it may very well be worth the adjustment time to have a wig that's a bit shorter than your natural style.

Choosing a wig style that's too full

Some wigs simply look like too much hair, particularly if a person has petite features. For smaller features, look for styles made with lightweight fibers like WhisperLite® for a lighter look and feel, as well as wigs that come in size Mini-Petite or Petite. While you can customize a wig to suit your features, it's best to choose a style closest to the look you want, and do minimal trimming to remove bulk.

Choosing a wig color that's too dark

What looks like a good wig color match may just be too dark. When in doubt, try a step lighter or warmer than your natural hair color, for a brightening effect.
